Violence In The Media

This is an excerpt from my violence in the media essay.
This may or may not be in my final draught...

Violence In The Media
For And Against

We know that opinions are varied on the subject of violence in the media, but who are the main groups of people that are for and against?

For
Movie makers: The people that make violent movies.
Consumers: The people that buy into various forms of violence in the media.
Backers: The people that put money into things in the media that contain violence.
Musicians: The people that have violence in their music.
Computer games studios: The people that make violent games.

All these people have one thing in common, they don’t want their right to use or consume violence in whatever media form it manifests itself in. Whether this is for financial or artistic reasons, they want violence in the media to stay, and their creations, or viewing to go uncensored.

Against
Parents: To protect their children from the ‘sick filth’ that the media can excrete from the deepest bowels of their sick imagination.
Religion: To protect the world from this terrible web of sin that is media violence.
The Government: To protect the general public from any media nastiness.
Sensitive people: Who can’t cope with anything more violent than harsh words. Such as damn.
Older people: Who grew up in a completely non violent society. Apart from the war.

All of these people are out to protect their moral values against the evil of violence in the media. Or so they say.
