Friday

Hello, and welcome to the end of the week.
Well it is for some people, I have to work saturday and sunday.
This is not a good thing, although at least I quite like my job and the people I work with.
As promised, I have set up a poll, which I hope you will take the time to do.
I have also continued adding thing to the sidebar, which I hope you like.
I have now set up a tagboard as well, so feel free to comment.

The Importance Of Being At College...

Hello everone, well anyone really.

Anyway, I did only my second ever radio broadcast today, and it was great!!!!
I got to play some cool music, and I thought I did a very good job presenting.
Among my many remarks was a moan about Q magazine.

They gave an 'off form' Avril Lavigne 2/5, the same as an 'on form' Wildhearts, about whom they said all their songs sounded the same!!!!
This is why Q magazine is such a big load of rubbish, and deserves to be classed alongside smash hits magazine.

Anway, on a lighter note, it will be Christmas soon, YAY!!!!

Also, I have added some things to the sidebar for you to enjoy, and I hope to get a poll sorted out soon, so that gives you something to look forward to!!!!

A rare occurance...

Well here's a thig, me in on a wednesday.
Never been in college on a wednesday before, not because i'm bunking or anything, but because it is my day off. My ONLY day off, hence me not being here on any given wednesday. Except today. I have work to do, work that probably could have been done long ago if it wasn't for the Barbs forum, a magical place where you can spend hours talking to all sorts of weird and wonderful, but mainly weird people. This is the place I go to escape from doing work.
Which is why I am now doing work on my day off. Drat.
Oh well, at least it will be christmas soon...
But I have to work boxing day, oh fcuk.
I apolagise for using that cursed chav sign, but it does lead me on nicely to my next complaint. As I write this, I am writing up my analysis of a radio show I did at college. We decided to do a rock show in the end, and aside from a few problems(a lot of problems) it went alright. But then we listened to all the other shows, and had to listen to so much shite. Chavs encourage this shite music, and all of it just really pisses me off, they should all be sent off on a one way rocket to mars, or even better, the sun, that would solve it, and make all the rest of lives a bit more bearable.
Anyway, rant over, i'll talk about something more pleasant now. It seems that the Barbs gig rumored to be happening at the Camden Barfly on 17th January is going ahead! This is great news, as the Barbs are such a great band, especially live, and I was starting to get widthdrawl symtoms having not seen them for what seems like an age. I will definately going to that gig. Oh yes!!!!
Anyway, I have gone on for far too long, and I shall bid you farewell, until the next time...
Well tomorrow.

Another day, another post...

So...
Another day, another post.
Does anyone else sometimes ponder the purpose of our existence on this planet we call the Earth?
Just me then. Actually, I don't know why I wrote that, but its never stopped me before, and it won't stop me now.

Anyway, today we were supposed to do a 5-10 minute group discussion on a topic of our choice, which was euthanasia for my group.
Well, 35 minutes later, we finally finished, phew, never have I known a discussion in class about something so serious go on so long. We passed by quite a way, and I quite enjoyed doing it. How about that, something good can come out of a key-skills lesson after all!

I'm sure that was of no interest to anyone, but I thought I would share it anyway.
Also, I watched the extended edition of The Lord Of The Rings-Return Of The King
yesterday. Wow! Great film, but very long. As in 4 hours long!

As for life outide of college, I have done nothing of note other than work recently.
Saving myself for the christmas and new year 'celebrations'. With booze. Oh yes!!!!

Violence In The Media

This is an excerpt from my violence in the media essay.
This may or may not be in my final draught...

Violence In The Media
For And Against

We know that opinions are varied on the subject of violence in the media, but who are the main groups of people that are for and against?

For
Movie makers: The people that make violent movies.
Consumers: The people that buy into various forms of violence in the media.
Backers: The people that put money into things in the media that contain violence.
Musicians: The people that have violence in their music.
Computer games studios: The people that make violent games.

All these people have one thing in common, they don’t want their right to use or consume violence in whatever media form it manifests itself in. Whether this is for financial or artistic reasons, they want violence in the media to stay, and their creations, or viewing to go uncensored.

Against
Parents: To protect their children from the ‘sick filth’ that the media can excrete from the deepest bowels of their sick imagination.
Religion: To protect the world from this terrible web of sin that is media violence.
The Government: To protect the general public from any media nastiness.
Sensitive people: Who can’t cope with anything more violent than harsh words. Such as damn.
Older people: Who grew up in a completely non violent society. Apart from the war.

All of these people are out to protect their moral values against the evil of violence in the media. Or so they say.

Just another manic monday...

Today is monday. Joy. For me mondays are the most pointless of days. I have to go into college for 2 lessons, neither of which has any real worth, except to allow me to do this, which means the purpose of my mondays is down to whether you think there is any point in these ramblings or not...

Went to see the Wildhearts on wednesday. WOW!!!! Saw them earlier this year and they were great then, and this gig just confirmed that they are a really brilliant band with too many great songs to mention and even if they are playing songs I don't really know they still rock harder than any other band. They managed to completely change their set from earlier in trhe year thanks to fans picking the songs this time, but they were as great as ever.
Long live the Wildhearts!!!!
